With today's variety as far as curtains and blinds go, which do you choose? Lets weigh things out.........

Cleanliness:

Curtains are usually made from thick heavy materials which absorb dust mites and the sort like crazy! What happens if you spill something over them? Your sure to have a hard time cleaning them and at the same time spending money on various cleaning products that don't even work that well!

Now, on the other hand, you have blinds. Blinds are often made from spill proof materials that are easily wiped down with a damp cloth. You're also not likely to get a horrible smell after cleaning them like with curtains! And, if you do somehow manage to ruin your blind, you can always pay for a simple recovering at half the price!

Looks:

Blinds are becoming more popular than ever before! With an ever growing list of styles and finishes you're sure to find something to match the decor of your home. You can choose from roller blinds, Venetians, shutters etc etc there really is so much to choose from.

We can’t knock of curtains here too much because we know there is a wide choice of materials, style etc... But what there seems to be a lack of are modern styles for modern decors.

Functionality:

Depending on the thickness of your curtain you can either have a translucent material, something in-between or a total blackout fabric. The draw back is that you either have them closed or open (or half open, which can look messy).

With blinds however, you can often control the light coming through successfully with a twirl of the tilt want.

Result:

By far, the blinds are the better overall option. And below are a couple of links with some more information regarding blinds...
